@rapdaily: When Nas released ‘Illmatic’ in April of 1994 it would ultimately become one of the most influential Hip-Hop albums ever. The album was recorded largely in his late teens, as Nas grew up in the Queensbridge Houses in Queens, New York, and that environment is woven into the fabric of the record. "The World Is Yours,” produced by Pete Rock became one of the album’s defining tracks. The title comes directly from the 1983 film ‘Scarface,’ the phrase glowing upon the blimp Tony Montana sees before his rise to power. The music video matches the tone, painting a black and white portrait of New York City. Follow @RapDaily for more!
