You should be able to add accessibility accommodations to your ticket. I would suggest asking for a wheelchair when you check in. I know you’re capable of walking, but having the wheelchair makes the lines and waiting so much easier as you navigate the airport. There is no cost. You just need to tip the wheelchair attendant. All of this should be selectable on your ticket before you get to the airport, so once you’re there, just let them know as you check in, and they will have someone come with a wheelchair.

Add wheelchair service - they even have a special TSA line and goes pretty quickly. Call and set up early! When you check in they send someone to you

I just learned there is a system in place for this called TSA Cares. You call and give your info before you fly and someone walks you through the screening area and gate assistance. Available for any type of physical or invisible disability. You can Google it and find info on the TSA site but here’s the contact info:

It sounds dramatic, but request a wheelchair at the ticket area. My sister had severe shoulder pain and could not get through the airport unassisted, so she got a wheelchair and it went great. Then let them know at the gate that you need to pre board and you’ll need a wheelchair at the destination.

Wheelchair user here, look up “TSA CARES” it’s a special program to help folks with mobility aids/medical needs through screening. They will help make sure you get the assistance and information on modified procedures to get through TSA as easily as possible.

Get wheelchair assist for sure. I travel a lot and have used them for friends with back issues, bad knees, etc because airports require lots of walking and standing. You can set it up on the airline’s app for both you departure and arrival airports. Some make you walk what seems like miles and there seem to be lots under construction, etc. have fun!!

Gate Agent here. Call the airline and let them know. A wheelchair or golf cart can take you to your gate. Let them know at checkin. One will be added to your return as well. TSA will take you to a seperate line for security. Pre board before first class. Someone will help you down jetbridge and assist you in showing your bag.

Get TSA precheck if you don’t already, it’s not hard, and takes less than a week. I did mine on a Saturday and get my TSA number on Tuesday. And then add those details to your profile with the airline and enable Touchless ID. You will breeze through security, zero line! And of course you can add to your airline profile that you need assistance and then go to the ticket counter and they will get you set up with a wheelchair to take you through security and to your gate. Safe travels!!

Show up early and request a wheelchair. My partner has MS and she usually does this if she has a layover or if it's a big airport

I’d recommend trying out a wheelchair throughout the airport! They should also be able to provide someone to push you if you let them know you need it. It saves you from walking super far, or at all. This is a great reason to use a wheelchair :) good luck.

At check in tell them you need assistance. My brother can’t walk that far, and when he travels he tells them and they usually have a wheelchair and a person to wheel him to the terminal and I think they usually make sure he gets on the plain as well. Or at least alert the flight crew and you have access to early boarding. 💕

Definitely take advantage of the TSA cares program. You can schedule it in advance so they know you are coming and will have someone available for you

Look into accessibility accommodations, noise canceling devices like loop earbuds, make sure you arrive horribly early so you don’t have to worry about timing , don’t worry about bringing a water bottle on the flight unless it’s something you religiously drink from, make sure you have portable charger if your flight’s long or just anyway because you don’t want to run out of battery, slip on shoes, pants without a belt, a neck pillow, sleep mask, corded earbuds/headphones

Ask for a wheelchair to get through TSA and to your gate. Ask for another wheelchair upon arrival in CA. I had to do that before I had my knee replaced.

I'm going to suggest getting a wheelchair lined up with the airline at the airport before you go. I've flown several times with broken feet and while I could walk for a bit, an airport and the lines are no Bueno. Just call up the airline and get it arranged now. It will be much better for you.

Request wheelchair service through your airline. I’ve done it for my parents. There is no cost for the service

Request a wheelchair ahead of time. Don’t wait until you’re there. It’ll help with the lines so much and getting to the gate if it’s really far away.

Absolutely add wheelchair assistance to your ticket. Bring some cash to tip the people that push you around. I had to use it for my knee.

Call and get disability assistance. It’s free with all airlines, you just call, and they’ll direct you to somebody in that department, and they will wheelchair you from the point you get in the airport, until you leave the airport.

Look into TSA Cares program. Each airport handles it differently. At some, they call you ahead of time and will arrange to meet you and get you through TSA quickly.

Add wheel chair service.. I sprained my ankle on a trip once. I was on crutches for the airport ride home. When we checked in someone asked if I needed a wheelchair. I said sure and it was so helpful especially when waiting in long lines. We also got to skip to the front of a few lines :)
