@nextshark: The 2014 retirement anniversary concert of Nam Yun Kim featured a heartfelt tribute as the Suwon student orchestra, led by pianist Daejin Kim, performed a surprise encore of “My Way” in her honor. Widely regarded as the “godmother” of the Korean violin world, Kim was a Juilliard-trained soloist who performed internationally and helped elevate South Korea’s classical music scene. She taught at the Korea National University of Arts, mentoring renowned violinists such as Shin Zia, Clara-Jumi Kang and Lim Ji-young. Kim passed away on March 12, 2023, at the age of 74 after a long illness. 📽️Edited by: Gabe Jung 🤳Click our linkinbio to sign up to our daily newsletter. 📰Follow us for the latest Asian News @NextShark #news #reel #korea #classicalmusic #violin #namyunkim #orchestra #tribute #music #concert #juilliard #musician #teacher #legacy #southkorea #encore #myway #piano #daejin kim #students #arts #culture #performance #worldnews #musiceducation #legend #remembering #viralvideo
