the main point of buddhism is to be free from desire,attachment,greed without them there is no suffering and without suffering you find true happiness however the true essence lies in service if your goal is to bring happiness to those around you and provide for your loved ones you must strive for excellence in everything you cannot simply let things go instead you must embrace and master them all it may seem to contradict traditional teachings but they actually lead to the same path it just depends on your goal if you cannot let it go you must overcome it
