all aang's kid follow his footsteps.. bumi became soldier and being the hero. kya living all around the world like air nomad. tenzin keeping the culture like aang's wanted.. aang is a good father as he never pressure any of them to preserve the air nomad culture. tenzin got more time with aang because he's the only one having interest on the culture. tenzin are the one that give aang's hope to revive his culture.. not because tenzin have air bending but because of his love for the culture

The fact that Bumi and Tenzin have the same trauma- Bumi became a soldier to make Aang proud of him: "I may not be an Air bender, but I'm a hero just like you". Tenzin carries the legacy as an Air bender and wants to make Aang proud of him by preserving Air nomad's culture. They both have the need of Aang approval but in different ways
