Sombr grew up in an entertainment family with connection and funding. Nothing is DYI about that project

I would rather follow Van Gogh's path: misunderstood, insane, lonely, broke, and posthumously famous. Far more intriguing than a successful career.

At what point do we draw the line at fraud vs good marketing?

In the 90s people were paying promoters in clubs to play their music in clubs to get it out there, now they paying promoters to make viral trending videos…same coin, different side. I don’t understand what the issue is. It’s just developed like everything else has

Ive been releasing music for maybe 6 years straight. I have tried countless of times creating a solid social image and foundation with paid ads around specific tracks i know are my better works. Ive tried sending my tracks to countless playlisters for certain fees, my socials are set up to help advertise each album as i release them with 3 promotions made for each album. 6 albums in over 95 original songs and I’ve not once still hit over 10 daily listeners on Spotify for example. Personally i just enjoy making music, if i was ever to blow up happy days, financially it’ll be helpful for me to maximise my musics quality on releases and even branch out to do some cool visuals. My music is sent through to over 35 distribution teams + radio stations and sources. Ive done everything i can my end but ill always keep pushing to get the ball rolling.

It’s too oversaturated. As a music fan for life the last thing I want is ads pushed in my face. Good music catches my attention. Someone I can connect with. People crave organic connection more than ever now. I unfollow people that spam the same posts non stop

I'd take it a step further, did music ever breakthrough organically?? What does that even mean? There's always been radio and labels

Marketing is a fact of life but using bots pretending to be genuine comments is not ethical. It is digital pollution.

I think there’s something to be said about telling a story, building a world, and inviting people into it. It take patience, but that plus strong music I think can build a dedicated fan base
