In April 2023, a woman named Dee reported a terrifying solo camping experience inside Salt Fork State Park, one of the largest state parks in Ohio. Accompanied only by her two dogs, Mia and Mara, she entered the wooded area to set up camp. According to her account, one of the dogs began behaving unusually-staring into the tree line and reacting to unseen movement. While setting up her campsite, Dee reported hearing repeated sounds of movement around her position, suggesting that something-likely wildlife-was circling at a distance beyond visibility. As darkness set in, the situation intensified. From inside her tent, she reported hearing slow footsteps moving very close to the fabric walls. Both dogs reportedly showed signs of distress, including shaking, heightened alertness, and focused staring toward the tent exterior. A loud branch snapping nearby promptedher to abandon the campsite and return to her vehicle. During the walk back, she described hearing rocks clacking together and movement through brush- sounds consistent with large animals moving through forest terrain.
