Don’t let anyone lie to you. It looks amazing! Great job. Left the natural wood grain and refreshed it

No see because this is a solid piece of furniture. It is built to last. It is worth the price. A dining table can easily run you $600 for MDF 🙄 not a fan. You’re talented 🥰

HOW I DID IT ⬇️started by stripping with Klean strip premium stripper. Clean residue with mineral spirits, acetone, or denatured alcohol! Then sand everything down to 150 grit to get back to raw wood.
Mixed a simple paint wash (about 50/50 paint + water), brushed it on, let it sit for a minute, then wiped it back. The goal is letting the grain show, not covering it.
Let that dry, then sealed with 3 coats of water-based satin poly. Light sand with 400 grit between coats. Don’t sand before the first coat or you’ll pull the wash off.
Secret step: my DIY toner.
I mix a couple tablespoons of brown water-based stain into my poly and spray it on in thin layers.
It softens everything, adds warmth, and gets rid of that “just painted” look.

Hey where did you get this? It looks so much like the family heirloom table I had to donate when I moved ☹️I was so sad to leave it behind but donating was better than letting it rot in storage lol. I’m so glad you took it. It looks amazing! The stains on the leaf were from dying my wedding dress
