Dollar General is a horrible place for employees!!! They hire managers tell them they want them to work 40 to 45 hours a week when in reality they work 60 to 80 hours a week because they won’t give their employees enough hours to do the job.

Corporate only gives so many hrs per week for all employees , it’s different hrs every week. So it’s corporate that causes the problem . As management I work many days by myself. Running register checking in vendors and trucks and stocking!!! Please be kind to employees it’s not their fault. 1 person works the job of 3-4 people! Customers need to call corporate on their store and let them know it’s not right for employees and customers to work and shop in these conditions

It's been like this for years, unfortunately. Corporate allots only a certain amount of hours per store and once they go over, it all falls onto the salary staff (Managers)

I get my truck on mondays and I work by myself every week on truck days, my employees get the receiving room ready the night before so when truck comes all I do is open the back door and the driver does the rest, it’s doable!
