I remember listening to a “Stump Paul Gilbert” session on the radio back in the ‘90’s. People would call in songs, he’d play them back. He never got stumped. A true legend

When he used to hold open counseling sessions at the Musicians Institute (GIT) his tone through a small Peavey Electronics amp was incredible. I remember one day after he finished, I went over to check his settings, plugged in, and quickly realized I still sounded nothing like him. Paul Gilbert was an exceptional instructor. He was willing to teach everything you wanted to learn. Another instructor I had who was just as generous and knowledgeable was Norman Brown.
