End of season 2 scene!!!Hua cheng was beside Xie lian to find out the real culprit of gilded banquet . After the case was solved , he was leaving Xielian n instantly , Xie lian felt that someone was missing n he turned to find HC leaving for ghost city ( mentioned in book ) . I swear , I felt strongly that feeling of missing someone just like XL ( like y HC had to go n y XL couldn’t go n live with him ) Fit me , this kind of slow burn is perfect.

Nah bro, ngl i felt it was too long cuz they kept cutting to the past, the first time they did it I felt like I didn’t REALLY need that cut away but the other times I understood and got pulled in, but bitch I just wanted the story to stay on them together😭 their chemistry was so immaculate that I locked in every time it was on them. it was also hua cheng trying to get xie lian to stop sacrificing himself so much. and it was important to establish hua cheng's initial life as an abandoned kid who was saved by a kind prince. getting together wouldn't be so emotional if these two didn't work through their large amounts of psychological trauma first!
