'does he swin?' i literally (no exaggeration) met a labrador retriever at the beach who was scared of the water and refused to swim! until then, i had no idea that some dogs didnt swim! id never met one who didnt. low and behold, a few yrs go by and i rescue a Great Dane puppy. her first hiking trip she fell in the river (Novemeber/December in Baltimore) and almost drowned. again--aside from that lab at the beach (who hadnt fallen in the water and still refused to even try to swim) idk a dog who wouldn't or couldnt try to swim.i definitely had never been in a position to have to save a drowning dog!!?? that didnt even seem to be something that ever. Im on the riverbank, watching my new dog swim to land and continue our hike. we ALL just stood and watched! her friggen eyes start buldging ---shes in trouble and still nobodys doing anything! iht shoce people out of ky way to get to her. i coukdny reach her--iht go in and get het out of the water (not real far, shed only just fell in, she didnt run & jump in) she didnt have an inkling of a clue on how to get out. she was glopping and slamming her paws smh i mean--just THE CRAZIEST thing id ever seen a dog do! she didn't know how to get out. i grabbed her and carried her to the car. she was completely soaked and freezing. we rushed her home and wrapped her in blamkets and heating pads. she stayed in bed w me for that day and into the next day. i promised her id nevet ever let her out of my reach again as long as she lived. the next 13 yrs of our lives together were the best years of my entire life. ever see a puppy with her boy? how bout?? a Great Dane having her toe nails painted by her girl? lmao she eas the best dog ive ever met! EVER! she left me for Doggy Heaven April 28, 2017. i look forward to seeing her again someday. some say i was her person, and shes waiting for me at the pearly gates lol idk. i DO know. not every dog swims tho. Phoebe Daniela never swam a day of her life. in fact, she never went into any body of water past her shoulders. if i swam, i swam in water up to her shoulders lol
