Except, if you plant short, quick maturing, shade tolerant crops like these: Arugula - Lettuce Cilantro Spinach Radishes Carrots Bunching Onions Marigolds This method is called "underplanting". I plant these short crops at least 12" inches away from my cabbage seedlings to ensure that they get access to sunlight to germinate and grow big. And once they are well established they will happily thrive in the partial shade of cabbage leaves, no problem. #gardeningtips #learntogrow #beginnergardener #vegetablegardening #gardening
