USMC vet here, this is not harassing or a form of hazing. Its standard practice and part of the mental training for recruits throughout boot camp. It helps form discipline, respect, accountability and responsibility.

For anyone confused, in navy boot camp (RTC) the biggest point is grilling you on small details, cause the navy cares a LOT about it’s procedural compliance. Crazy part is the moment you graduate the same people who talk to you like this just smile and walk past lol. It’s not a military thing, it’s a basic training thing
