The amount of money I would save from eating out and going to tj max would be worth it alone

Yep! We moved from Texas to Ketchikan and we find it surprisingly more affordable because our way of life is different. Food is our biggest cost but we buy in bulk & preserve food. It cost us $6,000 a month to live out here. That is our 3k mortgage, all bills & utilities, car insurance gas & anticipated car repairs, food, subscriptions, a little eating out money, health insurance, dog supplies & vet care. All possible $$ needs included in that $6k. If our mortgage wasn’t so high we would be living like royalty! We are grateful for a slower pace of life.

My electric bill for March was actually the smallest it’s been in a year. $340. But that’s because our governor put a hold on any more price hikes. My electric bill befor that? $600, the electric bill before that? $800. The rates were getting insane so our governor did put a hold on any utility hikes and suddenly it went back down significantly.

When the road is open is there a restaurant supply store that you can buy bulk from? I buy bulk and this offers me more options and saves money

Just got my last bill, $370 for electric. We have a pellet stove that runs at night. That doesn’t include propane (heat and dryer). We keep the house set at 66 during the day, 60 at night. Lights off all day, literally nothing runs during the day except a little water, maybe the tv some, and heat. It’s insane.
