I operate a under cottage food law here in Michigan. We can have pets in our home, but they’re not allowed to be in the kitchen. We have two very small dogs & the gate goes across the kitchen when cleaning, prepping, baking, packaging, etc.

I use gates in my house so there is always a gate up blocking the kitchen entrance 🙂

So I have two cats. One is a hairless cat and the other is a Bengal and she doesn’t shed. They are bread that way to not shed. I clean my kitchen thoroughly from top to bottom before I bake anything and my cats are upstairs in my bedroom when I bake.

Wait on the dog, mine drives me crazy if he gets in the kitchen and starts shaking. And as for cats when you’re not around they will get on your counters. My Mother in law swore that her cats never got on the counters then I sent her pics one day of them on the counter 🤣. I am in the trying recipe stages for now, but my dog will go outside while I am baking.

I have a dog and I bake. My dog is trained and doesn't come close to my kitchen entrance. He knows better 😆😆 also like you I don't allow anyone on my kitchen while I am baking. I keep my house very clean and I don't allow my dog on my furniture, in my bathroom and he has his room so yeah I am strict with everyone

OMG, this makes me so happy I'm not the only one! lol I have a dog (not allowed near kitchen) and I constantly, honestly, obsess over cleaning and no one is allowed in my kitchen when baking!

I converted our back shop into a full kitchen. No animals are allowed. No children are in there when I’m baking. My husband built me the kitchen of my dreams in an area where I can bake and know that no animal hair or anything else will be in my product.

I look at it as most home bakeries are cleaner than businesses. I haven’t seen a home bakery yet with animals. I had a cat before and my cat never jumped on the counters. I would like to see how clean the bakery is that has animals. I feel you though.

Cottage food law in my state says no pets in the home. I only have dogs they don’t get on the counters but hairs fly. I don’t have a bakery. All people should wear gloves!
