Also coming back to this, It’s interesting how people suddenly have strong opinions when a Black woman chooses something for herself. Autonomy shouldn’t be selective. The policing is louder than the concern.. Also some people be hating what they can’t afford, seen it happen a lot… 🤭

1000% agree! The more open people are, the better we can regulate, signpost and protect people from negative results. All of us are subject to beauty standards and I’m not sure why people behave as if being black means being exempt? The self hate allegations are also boring as we have our own black beauty standards that we may want to emulate (e.g. bbl).
