SENTINEL :
If we stay strictly within the text of the Book of Daniel, chapter 2 describes a sequence of world powers symbolized by different parts of the statue, ending with the feet made of iron mixed with clay.
In Daniel 2:41–43, those feet are described as a divided kingdom—partly strong like iron, partly fragile like clay. The Bible itself does not name any modern nation. The focus is on the condition: strength combined with internal division and lack of true unity.
The interpretation that the “Anglo-American world power” corresponds to the feet comes from this pattern: it is viewed as the final dominant global system before God’s intervention—powerful in military and economic influence (iron), yet internally divided politically, socially, and ideologically (clay). In that sense, some see it as a continuation or extension of the influence that began with the Roman Empire, but in a new form.
However, the key point of the prophecy is not to identify a specific modern nation with certainty. Daniel 2:44 emphasizes that “the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed,” and this Kingdom crushes the entire statue—not just the feet, but the whole system of human rule.
So, the idea that the Anglo-American power represents the feet is an interpretation that fits the description of a strong yet divided final phase of world power. But the Bible’s main message is clear: all human governments, in whatever final form they take, will ultimately be replaced by God’s Kingdom.
