I miss going to church, lighting candles and standing in silence. I miss planning and meeting my friends at church, sharing something that felt sacred. I miss sitting on a bench, pouring my heart out to the priest without fear. I miss talking about God and our sins with my partner, searching for meaning together. I miss confession, the release, the feeling of being truly forgiven. I miss the sound of chants echoing through the church.
