Awalnya, sakit kepala dan pusing yang dirasakan dianggap sebagai vertigo biasa. Namun setelah diperiksa, tekanan darahnya ternyata sangat tinggi. Hipertensi yang tidak terkontrol diketahui dapat meningkatkan risiko stroke karena dapat merusak atau menyumbat pembuluh darah yang memasok otak.
