My 10yr old has some hypo teeth. I have been told to use fluoride toothpaste - then I’m being told to use the other “natural type that remineralises your teeth because fluoride is so bad for you in so many ways (I’m assuming this is what is in these toothpastes are with HA in them) I’m so confused 😫 I don’t want to do the wrong thing!

This is so confusing because I’m somebody who has had a ton of cavities in my life, but ever since I switched to a nano toothpaste I no longer get cavities… I go to the dentist twice a year.

Respectfully, the ‘it’s just sand in a pothole’ framing isn’t consistent with the literature. Nano-hydroxyapatite has decades of clinical use in Japan and multiple studies showing enamel remineralization and lesion arrest—not just tubule occlusion. Reasonable debate is fine, but the mechanism isn’t that simplistic.

I have prescription flouride toothpaste and a micro hydroxyapatite (not nano) toothpaste. Ive been putting a pea size bit of both on my toothbrush and so far Ive found its helped with my tooth sensitivity after deep fillings.
