This! I told a guy I was talking to that I can’t stand for my phone to be blown up over me not responding within 5 minutes, especially when he knows I’m busy at work, in class or studying, or with my kids and that if he starts texting me then within 5 minutes is blowing up my phone with “you good?” “….” “Why aren’t you answering?” etc then I will remove myself from the situation entirely because there’s no reason to expect immediate responses in general conversation. What’s he do within 48 hours of that conversation? The EXACT thing I told him not to and blew up my phone even though I had just told him I was out of class and about to get food with my friend then drive home, so I did exactly what I said I would and removed myself because I clearly communicated what I wasn’t going to tolerate, he knew I was busy, and I even explained why I don’t tolerate it when I didn’t have to provide that explanation, so he knew not to do it and what the consequence would be and chose to do it anyway but then I was the bad guy and “like every other woman” oh you mean the type that loves and values herself over your blatant disrespect? Why yes, yes I am because you can’t disrespect my boundaries, especially ones that protect my mental health, and still have a place in my life🤷🏼♀️
