Feel free to make fun of me for how many times I say “greenhouse” in this video. After I finished the voiceover I was like 💀🙃😂 . No one is paying me for this, and y’all know I don’t gatekeep, so let’s talk about costs and some pros/cons: . Greenhouse: I picked out the greenhouse months in advance and waited for it to go on sale before purchasing. It went on sale in August of last year for $1,459.61. . Anchoring kit: I used what came with the greenhouse and also purchased a separate trampoline anchoring kit (designed to withstand high wind) which I used to secure the frame. The floor is installed on top of the anchors for extra security. This kit cost $34.97. . Floor: The weed barrier, staples, and paver base 1 and 2 cost $611.04. The pavers cost $227.70 (115 pavers, but I had some extra). The polymeric sand cost $161.86 (6 bags). In total, the floor cost approximately $1,000.56. . Potting bench: I found a local mom on Facebook marketplace whose teenage son builds potting benches! He built this for me for $350. . String lights: I got a 100 ft. set on Amazon for $50.45. . All said and done, this setup cost $2,895.59 - we spread these expenses out over a few months (August - October). . Pros and cons: do I recommend this greenhouse, YES, with some caveats (read on). Keep in mind, it is an aluminum frame with plexiglass inserts. It is not going to be as sturdy as a wood build, but if you take a few extra steps in the building process (use silicone glue to secure panels as you go - we had a couple blow out during storms in the fall and that could have been easily avoided if we’d taken that extra step in advance), it can be very sturdy. One other recommendation, anchor it VERY WELL an do NOT put it in a super windy area (ours has a lot of protection from the house and trees - I would not recommend putting this in an open field)! .
