Our second child I got a bed in the same room as my wife as I’d had my appendix out 2 days before. It was much more comfortable than the rubbish chair I had for our first child 😂

I told my wife i was willing to assume the traditional father’s role; that being pacing back and forth nervously in the waiting room, chain smoking cigarettes ( i don’t smoke but I told her I was willing to make this sacrifice for her); but I was informed that my attendance in the birthing room was required. I too chose the stool by her head. The birth was C-section and even though a sheet restricted my view I could tell it was an extremely messy affair. I was somewhat alarmed during the birth because the surgeons were talking exclusively about golf. I was tempted to suggest that they might want to pay at least a little attention to what they were doing , but everything seemed to work out in the end. 😂
