Why do my tomatoes rot at the bottom

doesn't actually make a difference. you get the same yield from laying it over, deep bury, and regular

When I start mine the stem is so long. so when I put them in the ground I burry the whole stem so it produces more roots.

found this out accidentally. left for vacation and one of our plants fell over. after a week when we got back it had rooted along the stem. we decided to leave it and figured we would just get less from that plant. we were very wrong. it produced more than all other plants combined. it was insane.

farmers do not do this. home gardeners do it largely to make up for their seedlings being leggy

I never buried the stems and had a huge root ball when I went to pull them up in the fall. They will grow more roots out of the stem that is buried but it isnt needed. Gimmick.

works with cannabis. train your plants for higher yield in small grows.

If you think farmers do this with 200 acres of tomato plants, you don’t know anything.

Just dig 3 inches deeper, and plant it straight up

I pinch off the lower stems then lay it on the side. Roots grow from each node where stems are pinched off. This creates a large root system.

One year, I let my tomatoes grow wild without no support it basically looked like my watermelon plants, and the yield was higher and the tomatoes were huge.
