tyre fitter here with your tubes your better off using baby powder to stop the tube sticking to the tyre and ripping it, the lube will dry and act like a glue. with these cute lil tyres probably not a big deal but with big tractors it can be a problem as farmers adjust pressures regularly causing them to rip and tear overtime

used to do alot of Tractors, Trucks & my own exArmy Landy with split rims, use talcum powder on the inner of the tyre carcass & inner tube on assembly. also fit all the bolts on the rim as I have seen a tyre let go at 28psi NOT FUN HA I usually inflate the tyre to full pressure then let them down then reinflate as helps the tube to sit correctly. was a tyre fitter for 15 years 🤜

am I incorrect in saying that rim is a 10inch? cos I definitely feel i read that tyre size wrong, considering a datsun 1200 has 13's.

tubes usually come with a talc power coating when new for a reason. Your lube is likely to dry and the tube will wear out quicker or burst, lowering the life of the tube.

I have done split tyres on fork lifts before - shouldn’t there be a rubber ring which protects the tube from the rim

yeh an next time if you put the tube in the tyre first, put enough air in that its holding its shape than lube the inside of the tyre and tube before slotting the rim in theres less risk of pinching the tube
