@laus_scullery: Spain’s most refreshing summer drink isn’t milk… it’s horchata 🌿 Originally from Valencia, this creamy, naturally sweet drink is made from chufas (tiger nuts) — a small root vegetable with centuries of history in Spain. Cold, smooth, and slightly nutty, it’s the taste of Spanish summers. Ingredients: •300 g tiger nuts (chufas) •100 g sugar •1200 ml water •Extra water to soak Method: 1. Rinse the tiger nuts well, then soak them in plenty of water for at least 12–24 hours (they will soften and rehydrate). 2. Drain and rinse again. 3. Blend the tiger nuts with the water until fully broken down. 4. Strain the mixture using a fine sieve, cheesecloth, or nut milk bag, pressing well to extract all the liquid. 5. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved. 6. Chill in the fridge and serve very cold. Do not cover Tip: It gets even better after a few hours in the fridge — and always give it a stir before serving 🤍 #horchata #spanishrecipes #spanishfood #valencia #traditionalrecipe
