I was a prefect in year 12 and we just stood outside the year 11 toilets and played bitlife. Was purely for the personal statement I did not care at all

🦷🥥 5 things I wish my patients knew about oil pulling as a holistic dental hygienist: 1. Oil pulling is an EXTRA.. not a replacement. I love oil pulling, but pleaseeee don’t use it instead of brushing and flossing. We still need to physically remove plaque from the teeth and underneath the gumline. Think of oil pulling as something you can add to a good oral care routine, not something that replaces the basics. 2. You do NOT have to oil pull for 20 minutes. GuruNanda’s pulling oil is designed for 2-10 mins of swishing since they use MCT oil. If you’re just starting, even a few minutes is fine! You also don’t need to aggressively swish it around your mouth. Gentle pulling through the teeth is plenty — your jaw should not be getting a workout. 3. Yes, there actually is some science behind it. Oil pulling isn’t just a random wellness trend. Research suggests it may help reduce plaque, certain bacteria in the mouth, and gingival inflammation. Is the research as strong as brushing and interdental cleaning? No. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be a supportive part of your routine. 4. I personally love coconut oil. Coconut oil contains lauric acid, which is one of the reasons it’s such a popular choice for oil pulling. But I also want to clear something up: you’ll hear people say oil pulling “pulls toxins” out of your entire body. We really don’t have evidence to support that. I look at it more as a tool for supporting the environment inside your mouth. 5. PLEASE don’t spit coconut oil down your sink 😭 This is the one nobody tells you until your drain hates you. Coconut oil can solidify as it cools, so spit it into the trash instead! I’m obviously a huge believer in looking at oral health from a whole-body perspective, but I also think we can love holistic practices without making them something they’re not. Oil pulling can be an amazing little addition to your routine but brushing, flossing/interdental cleaning, tongue scraping and regular dental care are still your foundation. 🦷🤍 Save this for your next oil-pulling morning 🥥✨ #OilPulling #HolisticHygienist #HolisticOralCare #OralHealth #DentalTips
