To be a tour guide in Japan, you have to pass a specific tour guide test. Takes time to make the company, plan, get agreements with the places you introduce, hire employees, figure out payroll, etc. There's a lot.

Let’s not get the dude fired from his current job by skipping work. 😅 But you do have to pass certain tests and jump through many hoops to become a tour guide in Japan so I understand why he mentioned five years.
