I bet we are still at least a month out here but we only cut native grasses. I saw some first cutting of alfalfa getting laid down last Thursday though just down the road.

Looks pretty dry there. As long as moisture is there, I don't worry too much about cutting the first cutting pretty short. Dry in the fall I'll leave more standing.
