Damn this is me and my brother. I’m the empathetic, people pleaser and he’s the opposite. It’s so sad because although we experienced the same thing growing up, we are completely different. Made it impossible to ever develop any kind of relationship with my brother, we cannot be in the same space without an argument erupting. It’s so sad but this is just the shitty hand we were dealt.

why does this happen? is it because of how the parent treats each child differently? it is incredible that the narcissistic one has so little insight to their behavior and what caused it. I have spent years unravelling the trauma of my childhood and trying to make it all sense.

it always hurts me everytime they say the youngest are the spoiled one. I understand that we could have different experiences, but it hurts me because I'm literally the scapegoated daughter, the problem child, the overly emotional-sensitive-peoplepleaser child. and they blame me for being like that wo acknowledging that it rooted from the way I was raised in their care... I always have to say sorry... no one says sorry to me... if I'm hurt, it's because of me...
