My a.c. guy told me to buy the cheap ones for 3.99 at Ace Hardware and change it out monthly. My ac works better and my bill has been super low. I keep my thermostat at 75.

44 years in the business. This guy is totally right. All a gimmick! As an owner of an HVAC company we repair or replace more parts due to the pleated filters. I use what we call rock catcher the one with the fibre see though the cheapest filter on the market. It works great. It’s been around for years. Please stop using pleated filters.

The cheaper the better. I've been doing HVAC for 30+ years. I do ZERO maintenance on my own system. I've been using the cheapest filter I can buy. Not one issue with my system. Cheap filter and UV light on coil......

I buy the cheapest ones they have! Change them every month and have my system serviced every 6 months and make sure the drain line stays clear.

I buy the virus filters and tape them to the back of box fans! They work great! Does it strain the motors? Yeah probably, but they’re $20 box fans and they outlast multiple filters so they’re so much cheaper than air purifiers
