no matter where bilbo is, he’ll never truly be home. He loves bag end and the idyllic nature of the shire, but his closest friends are in erebor. The single most impactful year of his life was dedicated to the lonely mountain; how could that not be home? But erebor is nothing like the comfort in bag end, and Thorin doesn’t sit on its throne with Fili and Kili by his side.
