If you’re young and planning on becoming a seriously good golfer then yeah, work on your short game. If you’re older and just having fun, work on your driver. If you can get your tee shots somewhere near the green on most holes, unless your short game is horrendous you’ll do okay. If you have a fantastic short game but your first chip is your third or fourth shot, what’s the point??

statistically they say driver is the 2nd most important shot so id say there does need a level of mastery to it. as a 10.8 handicap ive struggled to break 80 consistently because of my driver

Don't spend all your thoughts on performance. Golf is about the experience.

Don’t use driver until you break 90. Use a 5 wood or hybrid/ long iron instead. This is the best single advice I got.

If you get good lessons bring a notebook and write down the takeaways. Then you’ll always have them. YOU WILL FORGET
