I mean the twist in book 2 was good but the series is really not that great. The writing style is meandering and hard to follow. It feels like you're walking through a fog and the path is littered with trash and you have to rummage through it to find the road signs to reorient yourself.

Literally my favorite sci-fi book ever! Of course, like everyone, I could do without the imaginary girlfriend stuff but the hard sci-fi concepts are soooo good that they overshadow any of its flaws
