Part of building a home-lab is privacy and real self-host so i would chose a free - opensource Linux dist (Debian or Linux mint are very friendly an easy for example)

I've just salvaged 2 HPE DL20 gen9 servers from my works E waste. I'm waiting on some server grade hdd's to arrive. but does anyone know how to install proxmox onto a server? there is no OS drive 🤷

I first started using CasaOS when I first started out and as a super dead simple OS for running lots of basic stuff it was good until I needed to do more and upgraded to proxmox and I wish I had done it sooner cause the second I wanted to do anything in my server that wasnt just installing and using an app CasaOS seemed to fight me every step of the way haha
