Why are we opening our laptop on Sunday? This is the first mistake.

I am counting down the days until retirement.. 588 today. I’ve had the Sunday scaries for 40 years.

I felt like this for years. I kept moving roles until I found one that doesn’t make me feel like this

Honestly, you have to shift your mentality to “it is what it is”. That sounds a lot like caring less, and that’s partially true…but more than that it’s consciously compartmentalizing your energy. Choose to invest work emotional energy during work hours and NOT on the weekend. You can try literally visualizing putting those work worries in a box & putting that box in a corner that you won’t open til Monday. It’s easier said than done, but you can 100% train your mind and body

The scaries always hit us Corporate Ladies on Sunday. So hard for us to relax, when we know the week that is in store for us!

While I realize and respect some people have no choice based on profession; I do not work in the Lords Day! I learned many years ago that if I die today; I will be replaced tomorrow at work!

Sunday nights were the worst for me. That dread before Monday was my sign something needed to change. Finally made a messy exit plan and never looked back. Now I make my own schedule and don’t dread Monday’s anymore.

I eagerly anticipate my morning routine during the week. It brings me a sense of tranquility, knowing that I’ll have that first opportunity to reset and level up after the Sunday Scaries.

That’s why I left property management after 25 years of it. I had to start taking care of my well being due to all the years of stress! Needed to walk away best decision I ever made for myself🙏🙌

I get everything ready the night before. I make sure I bring a lunch that I can look forward to and snacks. I get my clothes out and get to bed early.

I’ve learned that although the scaries come, it’s important to run them off because we know us, we will get it done on Monday, take Sunday for yourself and for your family. You need to be fed and refilled.

It’s so sad as Americans we are working ourselves in the grave with a five day work week and a few lousy weeks of vacation time. On top of it all, most of us truly hate our jobs.
