@skinwithlisa: If you have acne prone skin, there is a high chance your skin barrier may be damaged or weakened from the products you’re using to treat acne. That’s why it’s important that your routine contains barrier repair, protection and strengthening products. In fact, I would go as far to say that everyone, regardless if you have acne or not, should be prioritising barrier health as it slows down visible signs of aging! These are the EXACT skincare products I used to help repair my damaged skin barrier. I still use most of these today. This the order in which you would use these products after cleansing, morning and night: 1. Toner 2. Ampoule or Serum (pick either) 3. Moisturiser 4. SPF (daytime only) 5. Barrier repair cream ✨ = products I’m using today (If your barrier is damaged, you should stop all actives and repair first!) Note: I know there are probably better products out there, but these are the ones I’ve used so far and loved! I’ve stuck with them and they have really helped heal my skin. If there’s a product you’ve used and it’s done wonders for you, please share!! — TONER — 1️⃣ @numbuzin No.1 Pure-full Calming Herb Toner: instantly hydrates and soothes the skin. I never used toner in my routine until I randomly tried this…and my jaw actually dropped at how intantly soothing this was. It is my HG for damaged barrier. If your skin is really red, hot to touch and stings this is a MUST! — AMPOULE/SERUM — 2️⃣ @PURITO SEOUL Wonder Releaf Centella Serum: extra concentration for targeted relief to soothe, repair, and strengthen the barrier. Also helps to even out skin tone. OR 3️⃣ ✨ @SKIN1004 US Madagascar Centella Ampoule: very hydrating, helps calm the skin and barrier repair. — MOISTURISER — 4️⃣ ✨ Purito Seoul Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream: A nourishing “thicker” cream that soothes the skin, hydrates and restores the skin barrier. I think this one is best for combo skin — if you’re very oily, it might feel heavy on you and if you’re very dry this might not be enough. I love how it leaves a nice glowy look. Use this if you have sensitive skin or just want day to day barrier support + you don’t have active breakouts. OR 5️⃣ @Dr. G R.E.D Blemish Clear Soothing Cream: a water-based moisturiser without being oily. Great for oily, sensitive and acne prone skin. This was my go to when my skin was at its worst dealing with active breakouts + damaged barrier. OR 6️⃣ ✨ Dr Althea 345 Relief Cream: this moisturiser not only soothes the skin but helps with post acne pigmentation. Use this if you don’t have active breakouts + have sensitive skin + want to even complexion by fading post acne pigmentation. — SUNSCREEN — 7️⃣ Numbuzin No.1 Clear Filter Sun Essence: another HG product for me! It’s no.1 on my list of sunscreens. Sometimes sunscreen makes my skin sting but not with this. It hydrates, soothes and protects. — BARRIER REPAIR CREAM — 8️⃣ ✨ @Eau Thermale Avène Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream: this is like a bandage in a tube. It’s thick and goes on last to seal it all in. If your skin is severely damaged, this will help fix it very quickly. I use this almost every other night (you can apply all over or just spot treat) or whenever I feel the slightest sensitivity, sting or dry patch. This has also saved my skin from deep acne scarring when I’ve popped deep pimples — absolutely do not recommend popping btw. This repairs, soothes and fades marks. Another HG product for me! This is frequently compared to La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume but I personally prefer Avene and haven’t broken out from it. ✨P.S. I get all my kbeauty products from Stylevana because they usually have the lowest prices. All of these products (except for Avene), I got from there. What’s going on here! The ones on my lower chin/jaw are itchy. I stopped using epiduo because it was making my skin worse than better (way beyond a purge period) - and this is the aftermath.
