@maishoppinglist: Super Typhoon Sinlaku intensified into the strongest storm on the planet this year, packing sustained winds of 180 mph and gusts as high as 220 mph as it tracked toward a chain of U.S.-held islands in the Western Pacific. Warnings are in effect for Rota, Tinian, Saipan, and Guam, where the next 48 hours could bring catastrophic conditions equivalent to a strong Category 4 or Category 5 hurricane. Sinlaku is expected to make landfall on Tuesday in the Northern Mariana Islands and bring destructive winds, widespread heavy rain and flooding. Source: MSN
