One time in a commission I was SLIMED by a yumeshipper because I didn't know who their f/o was and just kept saying "just search them up." I asked for reference pictures because most yumeshippers have pics of their f/o and they got so defensive to the point they said "DNI DOUBLES!" GIRL I DONT WANT YOUR MAN I JUST WANT HIS PICTURE TO DRAW [shock]

I got this commission a couple years ago, and they asked for a plus sized character. I was still learning and I told them that (obvi) and they were like “no worries! We can get through it together” so I did my best work, they told me if I needed to go bigger, showed me some line work I needed to do, and honestly it was the best commission I ever gotten. The person was extremely communicative, nice, they told me exactly how they wanted it and they tipped! They didn’t have to commission me since I didn’t know how to draw plus sized at the time but they did anyways and helped me along with it! If you as a buyer really like the persons art. You’d help them through your vision. Not just feed them false compliments.

As someone who’s heart rate literally increases anytime an artists asks me if anything needs changing, for god sake just tell them. I understand the anxiety around it, but if there’s anything you want changed you have to tell them

I had a commission a few months ago where they told me it was good and when i finally finished it they told me to do multiple changes and after a bit i realised the changes they were asking for was to make their oc look like the one of the two references images they sent, they never specified a preference to which image they wanted and waited to tell me until the end when i was finished to tell me. I was happy doing small changes but they were literally telling me to change 90% of the drawing and i eventually had to put my foot down and tell them no to anymore changes 😭

I messed up one time as a client quite recently. I had gotten a new character, so i myself was not 100% familiar with my own design yet and didnt notice during the sketch phase that her wings were just- straight up missing 🤣 Ended up paying for a revision to get the wings in there

no because i update on clean sketch, lineart and flat colors and i actually had someone only ask me for changes AFTER i sent the finished piece bruh. not only its rude, it also says in my TOS that i can only add/change stuff when between clean sketch and lineart

I recently had a commissioner who had a lot of changes/corrections they wanted made, ofc I did all of them, I love commissioners like that. Like yes, tell me what’s wrong, tell me during the appropriate stage. Other commissioners take notes, if you tell us what you want fixed you’ll be happy with the end result, I promise you we don’t bite 🙏🫶

As someone who commissions people often (depends, but I have a lot of money to spare lol) I just cannot believe people who hate on someone they commission. I would ask for adjustments on the art I paid, and if I like it then it's good! Like, you HAVE to communicate😭

OMG this is so real.😭 I mean I never saw a video with someone complaining about my art, but I HATE WHEN THEY DON'T SAY something like : "I kinda don't like that or let's fix this". cuz man I can't read ur minds, and sometimes my vision of something they requests can be different from what they wanted. is not that hard just go text a few words so the artist will know what you want.😭 anyway your art is gorgeous!!! 🫶🫶
