He is literally saying in a simple sense that don’t take mortgage instead, invest your deposit in the stock market, watch your wealth grow and eventually, you will be able to buy a mortgage free house, BINGO!

I love renting for a 4 bedroom home for $2500. Nothing else and I never have to deal with interest.

this particulat riba is not haram. if it is then even going to grocery store is haram because every item you buy has an interest for the seller. this type of riba called riba alfadhil which means usury of credit.

Assalamu alaykum bro, hope you good, quick question what's your take on investment banking from a halal perspective? Like is it something a Muslim can get into or is it generally off limits?
JazakAllah khair 🤝

Availability of houses for rent in my city is exponentially decreasing. Especially for large families, finding a 5/6 bedroom house that’s not like 5000$ is a miracle at this point.

I bought my house 15 years ago I pay 700 a month and it tripled in value. Yes I’ve had to fix it up and it did cost a lot at first to buy with down payments and closing cost but when you get 10 years down the road it starts to feel cheep because rent is never going to go down.

Live in London UK. My mortgage is £1000 for a 2 bed house. Rent in the area is double or more. We would not be able to house our kids comfortably if we were renting unfortunately. I do want to pay my mortgage as soon as possible though.

In Gatineau, for homeowners who purchased property before 2021, monthly mortgage payments are often around $2,000—even after renewal—whereas current rental prices are closer to $2,500. As such, the financial advantage depends largely on the timing of the purchase. Prior to 2021, owning was generally more advantageous, but the market has since become significantly more volatile and less predictable.

Where I live we have access to halal mortgage. Also from the time we bought our house (6 years) to now, the homes in our neighbourhood are asking for rent that is more than our repayments. Also, the value of the land and home have increased exponentially, so much so that if we sold now, we’d pay the remainder of the mortgage and have 500k profit in just 6 years. I’ll also add that housing security is becoming an issue with the current economy where so many people I know have to move out multiple times as landlords sell or want to move back into their homes. I don’t know, I think it’s worth it in the long run.
