Magelight increases your alteration skill by how far it travels before sticking to a surface. Just did this yesterday and went from 16 to 100 in about 15 min.

Orrrr, you just enchant 4 pieces of armor with 25% alteration, use telekinesis and fast travel a fair distance away and you max alterstion in one fast travel

I get mine to 100 by using Telekinesis and then fast travelling to the other end of the map

magelight grants xp for each item it lights up while it travels into the distance. the closer you can aim to the mountain without hitting it, the faster it levels

This absolutely works. I did it on PS5 last night and jumped form level 40 to 70. It helps if you invest in the first two perks of alteration (i think its novice and adept) so your spell costs less to cast. Once you hit 100 alteration, make it legendary and start again. Invest the same two perks into alteration again. Rinse and repeat.

Mage light gains xp based on how much space is being lit up if you point it at high wrothgars peak it instantly touches almost the whole map
