@sacramentourbanmedia916: A man accused of running a long-term fraud scheme and marrying a well-known radio personality to gain access to victims is now facing additional charges as his case continues to grow. #EarnestWilliams appeared in Fulton County Superior Court on Thursday for a status hearing, where attorneys discussed combining newly filed charges with his earlier indictment. Williams was first indicted in May 2024 on dozens of fraud-related counts. In January 2026, prosecutors filed a new indictment adding charges of rape and sexual battery. His legal team told the court they need more time to review the expanded case, and no trial date has been set. The case has been under investigation since a grand jury charged Williams under Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. Prosecutors allege he carried out a years-long scheme, targeting victims by posing as a legitimate businessman. Authorities claim Williams fraudulently married Shirley Strawberry, a co-host of the widely known “Steve Harvey Morning Show,” as part of the scheme to gain trust and access to potential victims. According to prosecutors, the alleged fraud spanned more than a decade, from 2009 to 2022, with at least 25 victims reporting losses totaling over $750,000. Investigators say victims were deceived out of money, vehicles, and other assets. Prosecutors also allege Williams entered the marriage under false pretenses and was already married to someone else at the time. A co-defendant in the case, Ericka King, previously pleaded guilty in 2024. She has since claimed she was manipulated and pressured by Williams and is expected to testify against him in the upcoming RICO trial. As of now, no future court dates have been announced.#fyp #viral
