I had an opportunity to go to Japan for free in the early 80s. I had made a series of drawings that was used in an automatic for a Japanese airline company. As part of my pay I was offered a free round-trip ticket to Japan on that airline that I could take advantage of any time of the year. I was worried about traveling to a foreign country like that on my own and decline. Realizing later that I had missed an opportunity of the lifetime. I didn’t know anything about Japan and there was no Internet to consult like today anyway. I regret it also because I realize knowing a little more about Japanese culture that I probably insulted the company by refusing stupid, stupid stupid but I still have a copy of the commercial.
