@blueacregarden: 🚨Frost warning for most of the Northeast! 🚨 we are predicted to have low ~30s temps overnight into Tuesday. A frost doesn’t mean the end of your plants, as long as you follow these tips. 1. Bring your annuals inside (an unheated garage is fine). Veggie plants like kale, broccoli, bok choy, and even some kinds of lettuce may be ok in the frost if you can’t cover or bring them in. Plants like tomatoes, peppers, etc will be kaput. 2. I tried to mention some of the most popular plants that do and don’t need protection. You want to focus on spring and early summer flowering plants that have buds on them. Your plants can overcome some damage to early leaves, but if the buds get damaged you may lose flowers for the year. Anything I missed? Comment below and I’ll tell you what to do with it. 3. Burlap or frost cloth works best, but in pinch any fabric will work. Even an old shower curtain or sheet! If possible, try to avoid having the fabric touch the plants so they are tucked in with a warm air bubble around them.
