The reason a car can accept 63 L despite a 58 L rated capacity is primarily due to the filler neck the pipe leading from the fuel cap to the tank which isn't usually included in the manufacturer's official volume. Additionally, manufacturers leave an expansion gap (vapor space) at the top of the tank. This space is intentionally left empty to allow fuel to expand as it warms up without triggering the evaporative emissions system. While fuel is denser when cold, the manufacturer’s recommended capacity is a safety margin designed to prevent pressure buildup and potential damage to the car's charcoal canister

i work at shell i can explain it....the 56 litres that you are talking about it's when the pump nozzle automatically stops..so it means that, up to that point your car has already met the 56 litres..however it can accomodate more because of the brether issues

You simply overfilled the tank to the brim, way past the recommended full tank capacity marked or calibrated inside the tank. That's why you always hear the pump sensing it and stops filling. But in your case you told the attendant "jaza kabisa" yet it had already reached the capacity recommended.

Avoid filling up to the brim. CX5 tank capacity is 58 litres. Assuming you had approx 5L remaining in your tank, you were supposed to fill approx 53L. Make it a habit to fuel early morning or at night, but shouldn't bring up that much difference. There's a problem with their pumps. The manager should explain.

😁 Google gives exact litres of tank but the tank has space for overflow,like the space left in a bottle of soda for air or pressure in case of petrol
