My personal explanation: I come from southern China, and the northeastern region of China, which is often referred to by Westerners as Manchuria, underwent extensive industrialization under Mao's rule. Therefore, it is one of the regions in China with the highest levels of gender equality and the lowest rates of trafficking in women and children.

I lost my child in 2020, so whenever I see a baby I ask if I can carry it and they allowed me😅 I’m always so grateful to be able to experience carrying a baby, an implant memory that is so beautiful being a mother, even for a second, its worth it.

In the West, children’s interaction with strangers is always a no no because there’s usually something nefarious when a stranger goes up to children. In China it’s very family oriented and innocent. That’s also because the laws are so strict on ppl who harm children.

I visited shanghai last year and a small Chinese girl came up to me and asked if i spoke English. im tall and blonde, so kinda easy to guess. we had a little conversation. she was learning Englist at school. she translated for her mum and said it was good to practice. at the end of the conversation she asked if her and her mum could have a picture with me as she wanted to take it to school and show them 😂🤗 I thought it was sweet and kinda wish id got her picture too xx
