Go around the entire perimeter a few times and loosen that root ball really well. Once it’s ready, roll it out and get to work—some people use a sawzall, but I’m team axe 🪓 (extra stress relief included 😅). Split it into smaller sections and you’ve got multiple plants ready to go. When replanting, water thoroughly and press the soil down with your foot to remove any trapped air around the roots. And remember—give your grasses about 3 years before dividing again for the best results.
