The US seized an Iranian cargo ship over the weekend, Iran has re-closed the Strait of Hormuz, and the ceasefire expires in days. Markets that hit all-time highs on Thursday look very different today (I recorded this on Friday). This isn’t to say don’t stay informed with what’s happening in the news. But when it comes to long-term investing… markets move. That is what they do. I’ve looked at my portfolio approximately 0 times in the past 3 weeks. For anyone investing in individual stocks or funds that focus on specific themes or sectors, your investments may behave quite differently to broadly diversified funds. That’s worth understanding. Tbf, I’m a type of person that checks my fund account way too often. Maybe it’s because I have a lot in it. I’m not worried about losses, but it’s probably because I’ve only been up, but I’m not worried about the losses. But I do check my account serval times a day

Although I am a long term investor I do take a note of my main fund price (Vanguard Ftse global all cap) which peaked in February at £2.70, It dropped in March to £2.50 (lowest) so at sale price I threw a load of money at it at £2.53, it has peaked again now at £2.73 so worth doing but may drop again but happy with my purchase price. When people are selling these are always the best buying times 🙂

i just buy and hold long term i like to buy things that i know are huge and won't go bust overnight love the big British banks they should have gone during the 2008 crash but the government saved them only downpart the taxpayer paid for it 🤣🥲
