What do you expect? Hormonal birth control is the line management to control endometriosis symptoms. Hormonal birth control reduces pain, bleeding and reduces risk of scarring from endometriosis. You can’t go doing operations on every woman who has painful periods due to capacity and risk of complications/ scarring/ adhesions from surgery.

I am a doctor in women’s health and I have stage 3 endometriosis. The best management currently for endometriosis is hormonal therapy - no bleeding means that you don’t get blood in the abdomen causing adhesions and further damage to your pelvis. While this is the main stay of management it is not the ONLY thing we do. psychology, physiotherapy, chronic pain specialists and of course laparoscopic surgery. It is genuinely so harmful when this rhetoric is being spewed that hormonal therapy is “wrong”. I do everything I can for my patients because I understand exactly what they’re going through and they see this type of video on TikTok and immediately don’t trust me. Look up nice guidelines, RANZCOG guidelines and do some research
